from Love Orphanage!

Dear Love O Village,

The Love O rental house was filled with holiday cheer! Thanks to the Haitian American Caucus for organizing a Christmas crafts party and a group of donors in Florida for funding presents and holiday dinner, our children were energized by much needed joy and play while settling into to their new home. 

I was also honored to be interviewed by the Philadelphia Inquirer, along with fellow WTV Board Member, Cynthia Compere, about the Haitian Independence Day tradition of Soup Joumou.

As a result of gang activity, schools in Croix des Bouquets never opened this academic year. Needless to say, our children are eager to get back in the classroom! They just completed entry tests and green fabric is being tailored for their uniforms. We anticipate them starting school next Monday! Our Be a Difference Maker program is funding the children’s 9th year of school.
